In preparation for the Boston Marathon in April, I ran an 18 mile training run this past Saturday.  The sun was bright (unusual for upstate NY in February), but the air temperature fluctuated between 10 -  20 degrees that morning.  I normally wear a mid-weight top to run in such fridged temperatures, but I was concerned about being out there for so long in freezing temps.  I decided to try out my new ASICS Thermopolis XP Half Zip top, since it's a heavier weight material and might offer extra warmth throughout the run.  However, I was also worried about being too hot as I typically de-layer as the run goes on.  I'm not normally big on heavier tops because they usually offer too much warmth and I tend to over heat.  That was not the case.  I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the Thermopolis material.  Even though my water in my Fuel Belt froze, my body did not.  I was completely comfortable...not too hot and not too cold.  It really does help to have the right running clothes to match the different temperatures / climates.
